Biden made a statement of support for Ukraine

Putin is a "brutal tyrant", the US leader emphasised.

The United States remains a reliable ally of Ukraine and will continue to support Kiev in its fight against the "cruel tyrant" that is Vladimir Putin. US President Joe Biden said this while addressing graduates of the US Military Academy at West Point.

He noted that Washington would not send American soldiers to fight in Ukraine, but would continue to provide military and financial support to Kiev.

We stand firmly with Ukraine and we will stand with them as they confront a man I have known well for many years, a brutal tyrant. We cannot leave Ukraine and we will not leave it," he said.

He said U.S. soldiers are working around the clock to ensure the movement of munitions and equipment by land, sea and air that are headed to Ukraine. He added that the US military support was not limited to providing weapons, because the US military also provides training to their Ukrainian colleagues - teaching them to use advanced weapon systems such as HIMARS, Patriot and Abrams tanks.

At the same time, he recalled that Putin had prophesied NATO's collapse and stressed that the organisation was only getting stronger.

I said to him in Switzerland: You want the "Finlandisation" of Ukraine. You will get the 'NATOisation' of Europe," Biden added.

We would like to point out that on 15-16 June, Switzerland will host a summit at which world leaders will discuss Kiev's Formula for Peace.
