Drones attacked an airfield in Pskov: military aircraft damaged
On the night of 29-30 August, two dozen unknown drones attacked military facilities in the Russian city of Pskov
Four Il-76 military transport aircraft were damaged, two of them caught fire, according to the Russian media. The Russian Federation produces only up to five such aircraft a year.
There is information that about 20 drones were involved in the attack on the airfield.
Also during the attack, a fuel refuelling complex on the territory of the airfield caught fire.
Local Telegram channels reported that a fire started in military unit 64044. This is the territory of the 2nd Special Forces Brigade of the GRU in Promezhitsy, it participated in the war against Ukraine.
On August 30, the Pskov airport cancelled all flights until the condition of the runway is clarified. Governor Mikhail Vedernikov said that on Thursday "the airport will resume normal operations."
Pskov International Airport is a co-located aerodrome, where the 334th aviation regiment is stationed.
