Baltic states and Poland may introduce troops into Ukraine - mass media

The decision will depend on the situation on the front.

The Baltic States and Poland do not rule out the introduction of their troops into Ukraine if Russia succeeds on the battlefield. This was reported by the German edition of Der Spiegel.

As the publication says, the speech about such a scenario on the sidelines of Lennart Mary's conference on foreign and security policy, held in the Estonian capital last week.

It is stated that the Baltic States are concerned about the situation on the front and believe that its deterioration will have consequences for the European countries. Moreover, they reproached Germany for refusing to help the Ukrainians in full, such as providing weapons capable of hitting targets at long range.

If the Russians manage to make a strategic breakthrough in eastern Ukraine because the West is only half-assing Kiev, the situation could escalate dramatically," the Baltic representatives pointed out.

They emphasised that they do not intend to watch what is happening and will send their troops to the territory of Ukraine if the Russians manage to make a significant breakthrough. It is emphasised that this will be only their decision and not that of the Alliance, which they belong to. The same position is held by Poland.

Spiegel writes that this attitude scares the US and Germany, as the situation could get out of control.

"Those who want to limit the war because of excessive restraint, indeed, run the risk of it getting out of control," Spiegel summarises.

It should be noted that the Baltic States, Poland and France remain supporters of the introduction of Western troops into our country's territory.
