Aftermath of Russian attack on Odessa: cars burned and windows smashed
Russian drones damaged apartment blocks and sparked fires, one person was injured.
On the night of 22 July, Russian occupation troops struck Odessa using attack drones. As a result of the attack, cars and an administrative building caught fire and residential buildings were damaged. This was reported by the mayor of the city Gennady Trukhanov in his Telegram-channel.
According to him, part of the drones were aimed directly at Odessa. One of the districts of the city suffered the most: cars burst into flames in the courtyard car park, windows were broken out in multi-storey houses. In another part of the city, an administrative building caught fire.
Later, the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine specified that a shop was also damaged as a result of the shelling, and emergency services are working on the site. From the State Emergency Service 17 units of equipment and 62 rescuers were involved. It is also reported that one person was injured - he is being treated.
The head of the Odessa regional military administration Oleg Kiper earlier also confirmed the fact of shelling and reported about fires.
It should be noted that such attacks on Odessa occur regularly. On the night of 19 July, residential and private houses, commercial facilities and cars were damaged as a result of the shelling.
