Hundreds of rare animals died in the fire, the rapid spread of the fire was fuelled by the large amount of hay in the zoo.
A zoo burned down in occupied Yevpatoria, killing several hundred rare animals. This was reported by the ASTRA Telegram channel on 16 April.
From the zoo with exotic animals "Tropic Park" managed to save only two bears, - stated in the message.
Thefire started at around 3 a.m. and could only be put out by 7 a.m.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry said a large amount of hay contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.
More than 200 species of primates, reptiles, amphibians, insects, rodents and birds were represented in the zoo.
