Newborn daughter taken from Ukrainian refugee in France
The medical staff at the maternity hospital decided that the mother was treating the baby "coldly". The daughter was taken away from the father's arms.
An 18-year-old Ukrainian woman in France has had her newborn daughter taken away from her, explaining that her mother behaves "coldly" with the child. This was reported on Facebook by Veronika Kisil, who lives in France.
on 5 November 2023, a citizen of Ukraine Koltunovska Lyudmila, born in 2005 from Zhytomyr region gave birth to a child in the Hospital Centre Eure-Seine in France.
The condition of mother and child is remarkable, they were kept in the hospital long enough for a standard case of natural childbirth. Yesterday, 4 December 2023, Lyudmila was discharged from the hospital, taking her daughter Amina into foster care," the report said.
It is reported that there were 2 shifts at the maternity hospital: one decided that the mum was behaving "coldly" with the baby, the second shift confirmed that Ludmila was treating the baby normally.
A volunteer, whom Ludmila saw for the first time, came to the maternity hospital. He wanted to help and realising that it was the lack of comfortable accommodation for the baby, offered Ludmila to stay with his family.
Ludmila replied "I will think about it", which was perceived as a refusal and unwillingness of a young mother to live with her child. Ludmila did not know the consequences of her words, because she was communicating with a stranger who was not ready to offer accommodation to her, the child and the child's father - only to the mother and the child, - said Veronika Kisil.
As a result, the child was taken away, according to her - from the hands of the father, who was in the ward. Lyudmila returned to the refugee centre by herself, the child's father has no right to reside in the refugee centre
Today, 5 December 2023, talking to me, she confirmed her shocked state and lack of understanding of the situation. No one explained to her the consequences of her words and, in fact, of her inaction," Veronica Kisil explained.
Veronika has notified the Consulate of Ukraine in France with all the documents, she has not received a reply yet.
In addition, she communicated with the Red Cross of Normandy, which is ready to provide all the necessary material assistance for the child. Now the search for a lawyer to represent the interests of the Ukrainian mother in the French court is underway.
