90 Ukrainian defenders returned from Russian captivity
on 25 June, the 53rd exchange of prisoners of war took place. It was possible to return 90 defenders to Ukraine.
This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, today the defenders of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, military men who were on the Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya and Luhansk routes managed to return from Russian captivity.
In particular, 32 National Guardsmen, 18 border guardsmen, 17 representatives of the Navy, 15 AFU fighters and 8 Teroboronians returned to their native land," the Coordination Headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war said.
The exchange of prisoners took place with the assistance of the United Arab Emirates.
The exchange of prisoners on 25 June was the 53rd exchange of prisoners since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. A total of 3,300 Ukrainians managed to be returned from Russian captivity, the Ukrainian parliamentary commissioner for human rights, Dmytro Lubinets, has said.
According to him, all the returned defenders will be provided with the necessary assistance, in particular for treatment, rehabilitation, restoration of documents, bank cards and the like.
