104 torture centres were found in the de-occupied territories

In eight regions of Ukraine, law enforcers found 104 torture centres set up by Russians.

This was reported by Prosecutor-General Andriy Kostin, Ukrinform reports.

Torture centres and places of illegal detention have been found in all the territories liberated from the enemy. These are 104 torture centres in 8 regions of Ukraine. The largest number of torture centres was found in Kharkiv region - 25, Zaporizhzhya region - 18, Kherson region - 11, Donetsk region - 10, - Kostin said.

In addition, 19 torture centres were found on the territory of Russia. The Office of the Prosecutor General has information that almost 90 per cent of captives and detainees are tortured or subjected to various types of violence.

According to Kostin, "torture in the Russian Federation is a planned state policy."

The Prosecutor General also noted that torture, ill-treatment and detention of civilians is a war crime.
