The National Security and Defense Council explained whether the occupiers can listen to the phones of citizens in the occupied territories
About 2600 settlements of Ukraine are under occupation.
Russian invaders cannot listen to telephone conversations in the networks of Ukrainian mobile operators. However, with the networks of the Russian Federation, such a danger exists. This was reported by the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council.
Conversations of Ukrainians in the networks of Ukrainian mobile operators are reliably protected from the enemy. Operators have closed access to internal networks, the message says.
They clarified that the signal transmission between subscribers is encrypted, which makes it impossible to listen to conversations.
At the same time, they stressed that in the regions where the occupiers have cut off Ukrainian communications and are trying to launch their own operator, the situation is radically different.
Russian intelligence services have access to the networks of Russian operators, so you should use the communications of Russian mobile operators as carefully as possible, the National Security and Defense Council warned.
They also gave some advice for those who are forced to use unsafe mobile communications. In particular, the National Security and Defense Council recommends not discussing with loved ones topics that could harm a person or his loved ones. Also, one should not discuss the places of deployment or movement of the occupying troops, occupying authorities, etc. To access the Internet, you should use VPN services.
It is known that today 2621 settlements in Ukraine are under occupation.
