The head of the Verkhovna Rada announced when the country will be ready to join the EU

Earlier, Ukraine received the status of a candidate for joining the European Union.

Ukraine will be ready to start the process of joining the European Union at the end of this year. Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk wrote about this on Facebook.

He said that for this the parliament will adopt the necessary laws necessary to start negotiations on joining the European Union. The main work, Stefanchuk noted, will begin in September.

We clearly know how we can fulfill the seven requirements that Ukraine has received. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is preparing the necessary list of bills, in particular, we are talking about the reform of the Constitutional Court - a competitive selection system should be introduced. We must integrate international standards on the issue of combating money laundering, amend the law on oligarchs, etc., Stefanchuk wrote.

He also noted that the parliament is in close cooperation with the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers and European parliaments.

What is important for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine? Then don't re-vote. Quality comes first. Action follows. No one needs reforms on paper, - added the head of BP.

Recall that on February 28, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed an application for Ukraine's membership in the EU.

Now, on the way to membership in the organization, Ukraine is waiting for seven blocks of important reforms:

  • reform of the Constitutional Court;
  • continuation of judicial reform;
  • anti-corruption, including the appointment of the head of the SAP;
  • combating money laundering (according to FATF standards);
  • the embodiment of the anti-oligarchic law;
  • harmonization of media law in accordance with the EU Directive;
  • changing legislation on national minorities.

Note that the European Union is a type of association where the member states remain legally sovereign, but have voluntarily pooled their sovereignties in order to increase their power and influence in the world, which none of them could achieve alone.
