US secretary of state may travel to China in February
The main topic of conversation will be Russia's war with Ukraine.
This was reported by Politico citing US diplomats.
The visit is tentatively scheduled for February 5-6. US Secretary of State Etoni Blinken is due to meet with his counterpart, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gan.
The meeting will show whether Sino-US relations can be more productive, as things have been looking increasingly tense lately due to issues ranging from Taiwan and trade policy to US concerns about Beijing's human rights situation.
In addition, State Department spokesman Ned Price said last month that "Russia's war against Ukraine will be on the agenda".
Earlier, other US publications had said that the PRC no longer believed Russia would win the war against Ukraine and believed it would emerge from the war weakened.
