Brovary says goodbye to a girl and her mother killed in a helicopter crash


Hundreds of residents of Brovary, as well as Mayor Ihor Sapozhko, came to pay their last respects to their dead mother and daughter.
On Saturday, 21 January, Brovary said goodbye to little Milana and her mother Olena Ponomarenko, who died in a helicopter crash on 18 January, according to Telegram channel Tribuna Brovary.
It is known that on the tragic morning, her husband Alexander was in a car and was waiting for Olena to return after taking his daughter to kindergarten. The woman and child went inside, and immediately the helicopter went down. The man rushed to the crash site. He hoped to the last that his relatives survived, that they had been taken to a burn centre, but they were not listed as victims. Olena and Milana were burnt alive. Her father could only identify the body of the dead daughter by earrings.

The funeral will take place on 22 January in the village of Novoukrainka, Chernihiv region, where Olena comes from.
Also today, a farewell ceremony is being held in Kiev for the leadership of the Interior Ministry, who died in the helicopter crash in Brovary on 18 January.
Colleagues, relatives and friends of the deceased came to pay their last respects. The farewell ceremony takes place at the European House.
We shall remind you that on 18 January, a State Emergency Service helicopter carrying the leadership of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry crashed near a kindergarten in Brovary.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyy, his first deputy Yevhen Yenin and Interior Ministry state secretary Yuriy Lubkovych died in the crash. A total of 14 people died, including all nine who were in the helicopter, and five people on the ground, including one child. 25 people were injured - 11 of them children.
