The US Senate passed a resolution recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism

The resolution is advisory. With the resolution's passage, the John Biden administration will be under pressure to list Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The exact resolution was submitted to the US Congress - the lower house of the US Parliament.

Now the list of countries sponsoring terrorism includes Cuba, North Korea, Iran, and Syria.

In May, the Verkhovna Rada sent an official appeal to both houses of the US Congress requesting to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
