Russian officials control filtration camps in Ukraine

The Russian authorities reportedly filtered and deported between 900,000 and 1.6 million Ukrainian citizens to Russia, often to remote regions in the Far East.
Linda Thomas-Greenfield, US Permanent Representative to the UN, announced this.
I want to be clear: The United States has information that Russian presidential administration officials are monitoring and coordinating these filtration operations,” she said.
The official also stated that such actions of the Russians are treated as war crimes.
Forced transfer or deportation of protected persons from occupied territories to the territory of an occupying country is a severe violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons, which is a war crime, said Thomas-Greenfield.
She noted that according to reports, the Russian authorities used filtering and deported from 900,000 to 1.6 million Ukrainian citizens to Russia, often to remote regions in the Far East.
