In the Odessa region, scammers were detained who were collecting money from businessmen allegedly for the needs of the military.

This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.

The police received information that individuals, under the pretext of receiving funds for volunteer assistance to the army, have developed letters signed by the heads of regional military administrations and are sending them to entrepreneurs throughout the country.

In them, business representatives were asked to join the fundraising for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The letter contained a bank account number and the contact of one of the officials. Of course, no officials sent such letters. This is the work of a group of scammers who forged these documents. The police of the Odessa region quickly went on their trail, - law enforcement officers said.

It became known that the same appeals with signatures of local chiefs were received in 10 regions of the state.

It is now known about at least 100 facts of the transfer of funds to the accounts indicated in the letters. The smallest amount was 10,000 hryvnias, the largest amount was 100,000 hryvnias, the department added.
