The occupiers kidnapped the man from his home, severely beaten and tortured him for being a former combatant. The occupiers brought Nazar, mutilated by torture, home. His condition deteriorated critically, after which the man was taken to a hospital in the city of Oleshki, where he later died, the report says.

The man left behind two minor children, whom he had been caring for for the past five years without a wife.
