Because of a possible repeat offensive, several defensive lines have been built around Kyiv

The Ukrainian command does not rule out a repeat attack on Kyiv by the enemy enemy. However, as the commander of the Kyiv defence forces, Lieutenant-General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, has assured, the capital's defence has enough capabilities to deter this attack and not let the invaders into the city. At the same time, he stressed that if an attack on Kyiv does occur, it will not happen in the next few days.

At the moment there is no immediate threat. The Russians have no appropriate forces and means. There are certain groups on the territory which is the border between Ukraine and Belarus. But, considering our potential, it is unlikely that they will succeed

The Kyiv defence commander pointed out that the Russian grouping, even if it receives reinforcements from Belarus, does not yet have enough human resources to go on the attack. However, he did not rule out that those currently mobilised in Russia could be a necessary addition to the Russian army.

Speaking about the past offensive against Kyiv, Pavlyuk noted that most of the Ukrainian forces in February 2022 were concentrated in the east of the country, so the invaders managed to sneak in from Belarus and come close to the capital. He also pointed to the repulse with which the occupiers were met:

The fact that they attacked in different directions simultaneously was their calculation on our unpreparedness and inability to defend in all directions. They did not appreciate our potential. Whatever the case, we met them. But we were preparing in the east first

The commander of the grouping of forces and means of defence in Kyiv informed that it was a new experience, and the Ukrainian party had managed to quickly create a powerful defence line around the capital, and create a mechanism for interaction of different structures.

He added that now there are enough forces and means to protect Kyiv and the capital region, everything is under control in the region, and people are constantly training:

According to him, the command constantly monitors the movement of the Russian army from the training ranges:

We have also set up a grouping on the border with Belarus, ready to meet the enemy with dignity. Kyiv region prepared for a possible offensive

Pavlyuk stressed that there are enough people in the defence of the capital now, but based on sales, their number may be increased.
