Russia plans to mobilise 500,000 men in January-February

Earlier in October, the Russian Federation managed to mobilise 300,000 people.

The Guardian quoted the deputy head of the Main Directorate of Military Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Vadym Skibitskyy, as saying that the mobilized will take part in a number of Russian offensives in the east and south of Ukraine in spring and summer.

Skibitskyy explained where the SMM got the figure of half a million people from:

We expect them to conduct offensives in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, and possibly Zaporizhzhia, and defensively in Kherson and Crimea. This is the number of people they will need to carry out such a task.

According to Skibitskyy, Russia will announce a new wave of mobilization on 15 January after the winter holidays.

Skibitsky added:

It will take Russia about two months to assemble the military formations and any Russian success on the battlefield will depend on how well the Russians are equipped and trained. Much will also depend on the continued supply of Western ammunition and weapons to Ukraine to equip the new reserve units that Ukraine is preparing.

He believes that if Russia loses at this stage, over the next 6-7 months, Russian President Vladimir Putin will "collapse".
