On May 10, in Russia, the governors of five regions at once submitted their resignations: Tomsk, Kirov, Ryazan and Saratov regions, as well as the Republic of Mari El.
This is reported by the opposition Russian publication Meduza.
As indicated, the first to resign were the governors of the Tomsk and Kirov regions, Sergei Zhvachkin and Igor Vasiliev. Then the governor of the Saratov region, Valery Radaev, who had been in office for 10 years, and the head of the Ryazan region, Nikolai Lyubimov. He stated that he would not run for governor for another term. Also, the head of the Republic of Mari El, Alexander Evstifeev, asked to accept the resignation due to the expiration of the term of office.
