At around 6:25 a.m., an alarm was sounded in Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv regions due to the threat of Russian drones. Some time later, explosions erupted in Sumy.

The enemy directed UAVs of the Shahed type at the residential sector. According to the Air Force, the occupants also dropped KABs on Sumy region.

The border region of Sumy constantly suffers from Russian strikes with missiles, drones and aerial bombs. For example, on 14 September, an attack on a power facility in Sumy region killed one person and injured seven others. At that time, the shelling of the energy facility damaged equipment and shelters, and several substations were de-energised.
